As a Repair Technician at Dundee Computer Care, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of hardware and software issues across various devices. Your expertise will ensure our customers receive the highest standard of service and support.
The ideal candidate will hopefully already have experience in refurbishing smartphone and tablet screens. Alternatively though, if you show enough technical know-how and an eagerness to learn, there will be an opportunity to be taught this skill.

Key Responsibilities
Hardware Repair and Maintenance:
- Smartphone and tablet screen refurb skills prefered, however able to be taught to correct candidate.
- Diagnose and repair hardware issues, including broken screens, battery replacements, and power cycling.
- Use specialised tools and techniques, including soldering and micro-soldering for component-level repairs.
- Work with a variety of phone brands and models, such as iPhones, Samsungs, and Google Pixels.
Software Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve software-related issues, including OS glitches, app crashes, and virus removal.
- Perform factory resets, software updates, and firmware reinstallation.
- Conduct data recovery using appropriate methods and tools.
Customer Service Skills:
- Communicate technical issues and repair processes clearly to customers.
- Manage customer expectations, providing excellent support and handling complaints professionally.
Technical Certifications:
- Preferably (but not necessary) possess relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Apple Certified Mac Technician (ACMT), or Android Repair Certification
- Commit to continuous education and staying updated with the latest technologies and repair techniques.
Diagnostic Skills:
- Utilise diagnostic tools and software to swiftly identify issues.
- Perform detailed inspections to pinpoint root causes of problems.
Inventory Management:
- Manage and order parts inventory, maintaining accurate records of parts usage.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all repairs meet quality standards and test devices post-repair.
- Follow proper ESD (electrostatic discharge) protocols to prevent damage.
Knowledge of Safety Procedures:
- Adhere to safety guidelines when handling batteries and hazardous components.
- Stay informed on environmental regulations regarding electronic waste disposal.
Networking and Connectivity:
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues related to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular networks.
- Address SIM card issues and carrier settings.
Professional Experience:
- Bring several years of hands-on experience in phone repair with a proven track record.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using standard and specialised repair tools, with essential soldering skills.
Documentation Skills:
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and write clear, concise repair notes for future reference.
Languages:
- Must speak English
- Beneficial to speak any of these aditional languages: Polish, Russian, Latvian, Lithuanian
Must Haves:
- Proven experience in high-volume device repair.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks.
- Saturday availability (5 day working week)
